Routes & Trails in Aguilas

With a population slightly higher than 36,000 inhabitants and located only 105 kilometres from the city of Murcia, Aguilas is considered the coastal jewel of the entire region of Murcia. Aguilas is known for its strategic location in the southeast of Spain, its flat topography and its excellent Mediterranean climate, as well as its incredible routes and trails, which are ideal for nature lovers.

The Baladre Trail, and its variant Baladre Ravine, is a circular path included in the Natura 2000 Network of Murcia. It runs through the Ramblas del Baladre and the Mayorales on dirt roads and then through another longer and paved path where you can admire the Sierra de la Almenara and the Castle of Tebar.

The Marina de Cope Trail, circular like the Cuatro Calas Trail, is ideal for short trips no longer than 5 kilometres and for enjoying nature, especially the wetland at Saladar Beach and the superb places of geological interest of Cuatro Calas. The Water Path is a much longer linear path, between 18 and 21 kilometres, but almost entirely paved. Along it, you can see crops and greenhouses.

The La Romeria Path is linear but shorter, reaching almost 8 kilometres. It is similar to the one used during pilgrimages. Depending on the time of year, it is possible to encounter the movement of some herds. The Cabo Cope Trail, also circular and between 4 and 6 kilometres, is characterized by the richness of flora and fauna, as well as by its geomorphological and tectonic complexity.
