Festivals in the Rio Mula region

      Albudeite

 
Saint Blaise. This is celebrated every February 3.

Carnival. This is celebrated in February (variable date). In Albudeite, it is typical to prepare the “Carnival stew”.

Holy Week. This is celebrated in March-April (variable date). The representation of the "arrest" on the morning of Holy Wednesday deserves special mention.

The “reventón”. Holy Tuesday night is celebrated with a copious dinner followed by chocolate with “buñuelos”.

Saint Mark. This is celebrated on April 25 with a procession going up to the castle to bless the water, so important to the town.

Pilgrimage of the Virgin of the Mount. This is celebrated on the first Sunday of May. The residents of Albudeite accompany the Virgin of the Mount to her hermitage, located in the Sierra de la Muela.

The May Cross. This is celebrated on the first Sunday of May.

Saint Isidore. The residents of Albudeite go out with their typical orchard attire, every May 15, to celebrate the day of Saint Isidore the Farmer.

Saint John Baptist. This is celebrated on the night of June 23.

Patron Saint Festivities. These are celebrated the last week of August in honour of Our Lady of Remedies, patroness saint of the town.

Saint Andrew. This is celebrated on November 30.
 
 

      Campos del Rio

 
Saint Anthony. This is celebrated on January 17.

Festival of Saint Joseph (Los Rodeos). This is celebrated on March 19.

Patron Saint Festivities. These are celebrated in June in honour of Saint John Baptist and the Virgin of the Rosary, patron saints of the town.

Great Sports Festival, "Campos Joven". This is celebrated in September and October.
 
 

      Mula

 
Carnival. This is celebrated in February (variable date). In recent years, the Mula carnival has been gaining in importance.   Vídeo

Holy Week. Holy Week in Mula has been declared of National Tourist Interest. It stands out for its impressive Night of the Drums.

Night of the Drums. This has been declared a Festival of International Tourist Interest and an Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. It is celebrated during Holy Week, from midnight on Holy Tuesday until 4 p.m. on Holy Wednesday.   Vídeo

Festival of Saint Isidore. This is celebrated every May 15 in honour of Saint Isidore the Farmer, remembering the agricultural past and present of the town.

Patron Saint Festivities. These are celebrated in September in honour of Saint Philip the Martyr, the Virgin of Carmel, and the Child Jesus of Balate.   Vídeo
 
 

      Pliego

 
The Candlemas. This is celebrated on February 2.

Carnival Saturday. This festival has become very popular in recent years.

Holy Week. This is celebrated in March-April (variable date). During Holy Week in Pliego, nine brotherhoods take part in the processions.

Saint Mark. This is celebrated on April 25. It is known as the day of the “mona”.

Saint Isidore. This is celebrated on May 15 in honour of Saint Isidore the Farmer.

Patron Saint Festivities. These are celebrated at the beginning of September in honour of the Virgin of the Remedies. The big day is September 8.
