Routes & Trails in Mazarron

Located in the Bajo Guadalentin region, Mazarron is a coastal town of just over 34,000 inhabitants. Since the time of the Phoenicians and Carthaginians, it has been dedicated to mining, agriculture and fishing. Additionally, thanks to its spectacular natural wealth, it is an important tourist epicentre, receiving more than 130,000 visitors during the summer.

Among the many attractions in this beautiful Murcian town, the routes and trails stand out for their beauty and enormous heritage value. Among the most popular trails is the Mazarron Mines Route, a circular path of moderate difficulty that is a little more than 5 kilometres long. It travels through cobbled sections full of pools from what were once many of Mazarron's active mines.

The Mazarron—Bolnuevo Beach circular route is a path of moderate difficulty of almost 13 kilometres. It crosses Mazarron and follows the route of the ramblas, where you can admire the beauty of the area that leads to Bolnuevo Beach.

Coto Minero is a circular trail of almost 5 kilometres and moderate difficulty. It is ideal for temperate and dry months, as during times of rain or intense heat, its unstable terrain becomes full of wells and sinkholes. This route follows the old mining reserves of Mazarron, located along the "Cerro de San Cristóbal".

Another very popular route is Mazarron—Rambla de las Morenas, a circular path of moderate difficulty and almost 6 kilometres in length that follows the route crossing the entire rambla. Here, you can admire the coast, the beauty of the thick vegetation and the tranquillity that presides in this place.
