What to do in Los Alcazares

Los Alcazares is located on the shores of the Mar Menor, but it has much more than just beaches to offer – and all just half an hour from Murcia. If you are interested in history, you cannot miss the Roman Rafts of Los Diegos, located in the district of Los Narejos.

One of the best times of the year to discover Los Alcazares is in the second half of August, when the International Week of the Garden and the Sea is celebrated. On those days, you can enjoy the best of local cuisine, as well as crafts, music and dance. If you like popular festivals, during Holy Week, the attacks carried out by Berber pirates during the 16th and 17th centuries are remembered. These days, you can see the landing of pirates on the beach and come across corsairs and many more interesting characters on the street.

Los Alcazares’ beaches are ideal for practicing water sports thanks to the calm, warm and shallow sea. Here, you will find many people windsurfing, stand-up paddle boarding, kitesurfing and much more.
