Barbary raids

 

During Holy Week, different scenes are staged to travel back in time to the 16th and 17th centuries, when Barbary piracy frightened the population with its frequent incursions.
 
 
 

Saint John night

 

As in all Spanish coastal towns, the night of Saint John (June 24) in Los Alcazares is a very special date on the calendar. Between bonfires and music, it is an unforgettable night for locals and visitors.
 
 
 

Day of the Virgin

 

Every August 15, Los Alcazares celebrates the patroness saint of the town, the Virgin of the Assumption. The traditional maritime-terrestrial procession brings together a multitude of locals and visitors who enjoy this emotional celebration.
 
 
 

Festival of the Orchard and the Sea

 

During August, the town of Los Alcazares celebrates its well-known International Week of the Orchard and the Sea through folklore and typical gastronomy and its popular cavalcade of cars, carts and automobile relics.
 
 
 

Day of the Cauldron

 

On October 12, a festival is held in honour of one of the most characteristic and recognized dishes of the region of Murcia: the Cauldron of the Mar Menor, a dish that everyone should taste at least once in their life.
