La Encarnacion Spa Hotel (Los Alcazares)
This is one of the oldest currently active hotels in the entire region of Murcia. It is also the first hotel establishment in the Mar Menor.
Since its creation in 1904, it not only offered accommodation to tourists visiting the region but was also considered a local benchmark for therapeutic tourism. This was because, within its facilities and services, it also offered the healing benefits of the artificial thermal waters of the Mar Menor, which were heated there to the necessary temperature and deposited in fine marble bathtubs for use by the guests.
Currently, the building continues to preserve its original structure, which consists of two floors, with an imposing sequence of balconies that surround the entire property. One of its most colourful and significant areas is its interior patio with Andalusian reminiscences. Such is the reputation of the hotel that some of the most illustrious guests of the time have passed through its rooms, such as Alfonso XIII and the Infant of Orleans.
