The replica of the Lorca Miliaria Column is attached to the Marín Ponce de León House, in the San Vicente Circus, as the original column is in the Municipal Archaeological Museum of Lorca.
This Roman milestone belongs to the time of Augustus (between 8 and 2 BC) and was placed at some point in the section of the Via Augusta that linked Cartago Nova (Cartagena) with Eliocroca (Lorca).
It was used as a pedestal for the image of Saint Vincent Ferrer, a Dominican saint who, in the 15th century, was preaching in the city, and that can still be seen today.
