Royal Monastery of Saint Clare (Murcia)

Royal Monastery of Saint Clare (Murcia)

This Gothic and Baroque church and convent is founded under the ruins of a 13th-century Islamic palace.

The church is made up of a central nave accompanied by four side chapels and a presbytery decorated entirely with Gothic paintings. The monastery belongs to the order of Poor Clares and is one of the most important historical buildings in the city, as it still preserves some remains of the old Islamic palace, especially of the artistic type.

Apart from the church, the property is made up of a cloister, a Gothic choir, a museum, and a Cultural Centre.
