Pilgrimage

 

Since 1848 in Jumilla, on the afternoon of Palm Sunday, the descent of the Christ Moored to the Column (Salzillo) has been carried out for his participation in Holy Week.
 

 
 

Holy Week

 

Declared a Festival of International Tourist Interest since 2019, the Jumilla Holy Week is a deeply rooted tradition that is transmitted from parents to children.
 

 
 

Harvest Festival

 

The Harvest Festival has been held at the initiative of a group of winemakers since 1972, coinciding with the celebration of the Virgin of the Assumption festivities. For a week, around August 15, in Jumilla a continuous festive atmosphere full of events and activities is lived.
 

 
 

Moors and Christians Festival

 

This takes place over three days. Its main acts are the participation in the procession of the Virgin, the taking of the Castle by the Moor side, the reconquest of the Castle by the Christian side, and a great parade with spectacular dresses, music, and dances inspired by the time.
 

 
 

Other festivals


National Folklore Festival (mid-August). It is celebrated every year in the Glorieta Square. There are parades of the participants, samples of folklore and a Folk evening.

San Antón neighborhood Festival (January 17). A mass and the corresponding blessing of animals are celebrated, in addition to parades and bonfires.

Calvary Street Festival (January 20). It is celebrated in honour of Saint Sebastian with the traditional blessing of breads and bonfires.

San Blas Festival (February 3). The Saint Blaise procession and the traditional bread auction are held in the streets of the Old Town.

La Alquería Festival (March 19). It is celebrated in honour of Saint Joseph.

La Raja Festival (May 15). It is celebrated in honour to Saint Isidore the Farm Labourer.

La Fuente del Pino Festival (end of May). It is celebrated in honour of the Virgin of the Rosary.

San Juan neighborhood Festival (June 24). It is celebrated in honour of Saint John.

Las Encebras Festival (June 29). It is celebrated in honour of Saint Peter.

San Fermín neighborhood Festival (around July 7). It is celebrated in honour of San Fermín.

El Carmen neighborhood Festival (July 16). It is celebrated in honour of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel.

Santiago neighborhood Festival (July 25). It is celebrated in honour of Saint James the Great.

La Zarza Festival (July 25 and 26). It is celebrated in honour of Saint James the Great and Saint Anne.

Cañada del Trigo Festival (August). It is celebrated in honour of the Virgin of Los Remedios.

Torre del Rico Festival (August). It is celebrated in honour of the Our Lady of the Rosary.

Román Festival (September). It is celebrated in honour of Saint Rita of Cascia.

Virgin of Loreto Festival (December). It is held in the Old Town of Jumilla.
