The exhibition at the Cayetano de Mergelina Archaeological Museum is divided into four periods related to four cultural areas: Prehistoric (in Mount Arabí), Iberian Culture (in the Cerro de los Santos), Romanization (in Torrejones), and the Middle Ages (in the Cerro del Castillo). Visitors can take an amazing tour that begins around 150,000 BC and reaches the Low Middle Ages, at the end of the 15th century.
In addition, the museum has created the project "Yecla, Yesterday and Today”, with photographs taken before 1975, contributed by the residents of the city themselves.
The building where the museum is housed also has a story to tell, as it is an old 18th-century palace that belonged to the Ortega family.
