Localities in the Ricote Valley
Archena is located between the southern gate of the Ricote Valley and the plain formed by the Huerta de Murcia. The Segura river constitutes the central axis of Archena, crossing its territory for seven kilometres, offering its waters to irrigation systems, and creating spaces with striking natural attractions as it passes.
The most outstanding of these spaces is the Archena Spa, the main attraction of the population. It is a beautiful place full of palm trees, eucalyptus, fruit trees, and flowers of multiple colours. Its hot springs emerge at a temperature of 51.7 degrees Celsius and it is typified as calcium sodium-sulphur.
Among its most relevant constructions are the Parish Church of Saint John Baptist and the building that the Town Hall occupies, known as the “Big House”, built in the 15th century.
