Santa Isabel Tower (Mazarron)

Also known as Las Cumbres Tower or Old Port Tower, this construction is strategically located in the port area of the city. Its original function was to serve as a coastal watchtower against the looting and pirate attacks that were constantly suffered in the region.

Its height reaches 12 meters in altitude and its strong walls are close to a meter wide. They are divided inside into two vaulted bodies. Its construction dates from the 16th century and it was designed, together with other towers, by Charles V to provide the population with the tranquillity and security that was needed at that time.
