It is a 17th-century manor house. However, due to modifications made in the 18th and 20th centuries, its external appearance has the appearance of a neo-Mudejar-style fortress. In the 19th century, stepped battlements in the oriental style were added, which gives the whole a unique air.
The building was ordered to be built by one of the most important noble families in the region in the 17th century: the Pérez de Meca family. In the mid-19th century, Antonio Pérez de Meca, the owner of the palace, was awarded the title of Count of San Julián, and since then the building became known as the Palace of the Counts of San Julián.
