This museum was founded in 1956 by D. Jerónimo Molina García and currently houses the Natural Sciences and Ethnography sections, with important and very complete collections of entomology, esparto grass, earthenware, pharmacy, mineralogy, fossils, and items related to traditional crafts that have now disappeared.
The entomology collection is made up of more than 7,000 specimens, exposing 1,500 Coleoptera and Lepidoptera from around the world.
The palaeontology collection has a large array of fossils from the municipality of Jumilla, as well as traces of prehistoric animals from the “Hoya de la Sima” and “Sierra de las Cabras” sites.
The museum is divided into four floors.
