Saint Mary of Grace Church (Cartagena)

Saint Mary of Grace Church (Cartagena)

The Church of Saint Mary of Grace began its construction in the year 1712, when the idea arose to build a new Catholic temple that would make up for the deficiencies of the old cathedral and give the city a true church.

After its construction, it underwent numerous modifications and reconstructions, as during its history it was partially destroyed, for example, during the bombing of the Cantonal Rebellion of 1873 and in 1936 during the Spanish Civil War.

Among the most outstanding works of art in this church, we can mention the Virgin of Rosell, dating from the 13th century, the Virgin of Mercy, and the Christ of Medinaceli.
