Basilica of the Virgin of Charity (Cartagena - Murcia)

Basilica of the Virgin of Charity (Cartagena)

This is the Basilica headquarters of the patroness saint of the city, the Virgin of Charity. Inside, she is represented by an image from the 18th century that was brought from Naples in 1723 by Brother Francisco García Roldan.

Inside are important artistic works such as the Crucified Christ by Francisco Salzillo, the Rococo altarpiece in the communion chapel, the painted canvases by Manuel Ussel de Guimbarda, and the Virgen de las Animas ensemble.

Its central plan was designed by naval engineer Tomás de Tallerie to preserve the remains of the old church from the 18th century.
