Military Museum (Cartagena - Murcia)

Military Museum (Cartagena)

This is located in the building of the Real Parque y Maestranza de Artillería, which was erected in the 18th century during the reign of Charles III. The Military Museum was inaugurated in 1997.

It is distributed across several rooms and has two floors in addition to a central patio. In total, its exhibition area is 3,520 square meters. Inside, it exhibits pieces belonging to the history of artillery and the various weapons of the army from the 15th century to the present day. There are also models, dioramas, and projections that show what the fortifications and deployments that protected the Cartagena naval base looked like.

The tour begins with the Cannon Room, where the coastal guns, antiaircraft guns, and field guns are exhibited. It continues with the Ammunition Room, which shows a great variety of projectiles and fuses. Finally is the Antiaircraft Artillery Room, which includes pieces from the Spanish Civil War to the present day.
