The Military Arsenal is a shipyard and naval base belonging to the Easter of Spanish and that, at the time, was built to carry out the naval policies of Philip V.
The Cartagena Military Arsenal represents the history of the evolution of Spanish naval engineering, as this was the most important industrial complex in the Mediterranean basin in the 18th century.
Its activity was remarkable. Among the most relevant were its shipyards and auxiliary factories such as riverside carpentry, rigging, sails, blacksmithing, and artisan and fine arts workshops for carving and designing the ornamentation of the ships of the time.
