Aledo is located near the Sierra Espuña, which derives its value from its vegetation and fauna. It stands out for the different types of pines, being an important representation of them.

Its economic activity is predominantly agricultural, with table grapes grown intensively and, to a lesser extent, carnations. Its traditional Murcian pottery has been recognized.

Of note is the Aledo Castle, a structure of Muslim origin that was built in the Middle Ages and had great strategic value, as it served as a defence of these lands. Its tower, known as Calahorra Tower, was declared a National Monument, while all the work has been declared a Site of Cultural Interest.

Among its religious monuments, the Church of Saint Mary la Real stands out. It was originally built in the 18th century, with a baroque style, a stone façade, and an internal structure made up of a baptismal chapel recognized for its great acoustics.
