The Castle of Tebar is located in the Sierra de Almenara, 12 kilometers from Aguilas.
It dates from the 12th century, although it is estimated that the wall that protects it is older.
It is of Arab origin and was made of two belts of walls that stretched across the North and the West, as the access points through the South and the East were impregnable thanks to the rocky structure.
During the reconquest and later times, this castle served the function of giving notice to the garrison settled in Lorca before possible sieges by the Muslims.
The castle is difficult to access because it is located on private property.
